If you feel anxious, stressed or depressed please email me or call on 07961 633085 for a confidential discussion about options for counselling and psychotherapy..
Stress is a normal reaction to situations that we find difficult to cope with. Over a period of time, too much stress can lead to anxiety where we can feel constantly uptight and nervous, perhaps insecure, which leads to worrying.
Some people find that medication from their G.P. can help and a more relaxing lifestyle is recommended. However, in order to get to the bottom of why you feel stressed and anxious, talking with a counsellor or psychotherapist can be beneficial. Talking with a therapist about what you find difficult can help you understand what makes life so demanding and this opens up the opportunity to approach life from a different perspective and reduce the frequency and intensity of anxiety and stress.
Depression is a term used to describe feelings of low mood and perhaps sadness. There can also be a sense of helplessness and despair along with feeling alone in the world despite there being lots of people around us.
Again some people find that medication from their G.P. can reduce the severity of low mood and becoming more active in the fresh air can lift your mood, even though such ideas do not sound very appealing when we are feeling down! Talking with an experienced therapist can offer some relief to what is troubling you and also help understand what might be happening and reveal why you feel the way you do, Together with the therapist you can start to find a way to come to terms with low mood and to reduce the frequency of depression.
